Supreme Court Judgement: Akeredolu Reacts

Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo state has given his reaction to today’s Supreme court judgement, as earlier report by Nigerian Cable News.

In a statement signed by his chief Press secretary, Mr. Segun Ajiboye. Akeredolu said there is no cause alarm on the judgement, while also enlightening the people about the true meaning of the verdict.

Below is the Press statement Unedited:

Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi O. Akeredolu SAN, has assured the people of the state that there is no cause for alarm over the Supreme Court ruling which dismissed the appeal filed by him.

He assured the people that the ruling ONLY addressed the mode of service of the Originating Processes which the Appeal Court earlier held was proper.

What the Supreme court ruled on was whether the service of the Originating Process on the APC secretariat in Abuja, instead of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, was right or not.

The governor asks the peace-loving people to see the ruling as what it is, confirmation of the mode of service of the Originating Processes as proper and advised them to continue to support his administration in its determination to develop the state.

At best, the ruling ONLY succeeded in upholding the earlier pronouncement that Abraham’s mode of service on Akeredolu through substituted means was proper.

Governor Akeredolu, therefore, wants to state equivocally that there is no cause for alarm over the ruling delivered by the Supreme Court.

Segun Ajiboye

Chief Press Secretary to the Governor
