2019 Election: Buhari Has Not Declared Ambition – Campaign Group

The Buhari Campaign Organization Organization has stated clearly that the intention for President Muhammadu Buhari towards Presidency in 2019 is still shrouded in secrecy.

The deputy director of Buhari Campaign Organization, Ayo Oyalowo said this yesterday while he was hosted on Channels TV.

Contrary to the controversies brewed by the minister of women’s affairs and social development, Aisha Alhassan, Oyalowo mentioned that there was no need to bother on whether or not the president will seek a re-election when the Independent National Electoral Commission has not lifted ban for campaign.

“People are just being mischievous, there was no reason for the president to tell us what will happen in 2019.”

“He contested in 2015, he won an election, he’s still running his mandate. If he wants to run again, by the time INEC lifts the ban on election, he will make his mind known. Why are people trying to be mischievous so that they can put the man in a tight corner?” he questioned.

Oyalowo noted that Buhari never told anybody he would not contest, adding that the president did not tell anybody he would contest either.

He said, “Let me make it categorically clear, at least to the extent to which I know, President Buhari never told anybody he’s going to do only one term.”

“He never discussed that with anybody and if anybody has any contrary opinion, let them bring it out and bring the fact.”
