JUST IN: APC Postpones Party Primaries In Lagos, Imo
Spokesman to the ruling All Progressive’s Congress, Yekini Nabena has confirmed the postponment of the Party primaries earlier scheduled to hold in Lagos and Imo states.
The governorship primary elections were early scheduled to hold on Sunday nationwide, with the exception of states where governorship election will not hold next year.
However, this new development coincidence with the uncertainty rocking Lagos state’s incumbent governor, Akinwunmi Ambode’s bid of securing the party’s ticket to run for the second time in office.
Jide Sanwo-Olu, is contender received the endorsement of 36 out of the state’s 40 lawmakers on Saturday afternoon.
Babatunde Hamzat, another aspirant also stepped down for Mr. Sanwo-Olu.
Mr Sanwo-Olu is widely believed to have the support of Bola Tinubu, the former governor and the stronghold of the Lagos state’s politics.
