While others graced the commemoration of the Nigeria’s 58th Independence Day, Senate President Bukola Saraki and Yakubu Dogara, speaker of the house of representatives, were absent at the Eagle Square, Abuja.

This is the first time they will stay awatfrom the parade since 2015, after they became the leaders at the legislature.

President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo and Walter Onnoghen, chief justice of Nigeria
(CJN), all attended the event.

Yakubu Gowon, former head of state, was also in attendance.
