2019: Mimiko’s Ex-Aide, Akinyele Picks ZLP Rep Interest Form

The immediate past Chairman, Ondo State Local Government Service Commission and a former commissioner in the Dr. Olusegun Mimiko led administration in Ondo state, Hon. Taye Akinyele on Monday joined his boss and picked the house of representatives express of interest form in Akure to contest in the 2019 general elections under the platform of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP).
Taye Akinyele popularly called “Iroko Kekere” said he is running for the house of representatives to give his constituency the better representation and bring federal government close to his people. He said the era of foreigners representing us to distribute okada (motorcycle), repainting schools as constituency project is over. While assuring his supporters his readiness for the election, thanked Dr Olusegun Mimiko for bringing the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) to Ondo state and begged his team to go all out to recruit more members to the party.
Akinyele who was most tipped to become the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the run up to 2019 election having stepped down in 2015, resigned his membership of the PDP in February this year after he noticed the PDP would not hold a free, fair and credible primary election should he go head to head with the eventual consensus candidate of the party.
Akinyele, a business man, philanthropist and a seasoned politician is a political strategist whose strength is in grassroot mobilization. People usually describe him as a listening leader, who will always put interest of his people and followers first.
