Police Bar Officers in Camo, Mufti From Conducting Road Checks

The Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Baba has ordered that all police officers conducting stop and search on the road must wear the approved police uniform.

The acting public relations officer, Mr. Muyiwa Adejobi made this disclosure in a series of tweets on Friday.

According to Adejobi, the uniform must bear the officer’s name and force number for easy identification.

“The IGP has ordered that every policeman standing on the road for stop and search, check point, or/and patrol duties must be on the approved uniform for easy identification and authority,” he wrote.

“Every police uniform must bear the name and force number for other ranks. We have taken this step to sanitize our operational engagements and have better human relations.” he added
