Ondo PDP Blasts Akeredolu, says gov’s Pledge to Reduce Tuition laughable

The Ondo state chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has described the latest decision by governor Rotimi Akeredolu of the state to reduce tuition in the state owned school as laughable and ridiculous.

The Party in a statement signed by it’s Publicity secretary, Mr. Kennedy Ikantu Peretei said the governor’s new decision is a mere campaign trick to hoodwink the electorates ahead of the October Gubernatorial Election.

Akeredolu had in a meeting with the leadership of the National Assembly Nigerian students on Wednesday promised to reduce the school fees payable in Adekunle Ajasin University, the state owned University.

However, the PDP PRO in a reaction sent to Nigerian cable news online on Thursday said:

“The pledge by Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu to reduce tuition fees in tertiary institutions is mere campaign to hoodwink the electorates ahead of the October Gubernatorial Election. Did he just realise that hundreds of students have dropped out of State owned tertiary institutions on account of increased fees? Did Akeredolu not say that the increment of fees parents were complaining about is not more than the cost of a pair of shoes?”

“Making such a pledge now that elections are just around the corner is laughable and ridiculous. It is a calculated attempt to deceive the people who have outrightly rejected Akeredolu and the APC for anti-people policies and Programes.”

“There is no amount of deceit and fake promises that can save Akeredolu from defeat at the polls come October, 2020.” He added.
