Ondo 2020: Tension in Ilaje as massive Decamp hits APC, PDP for ZLP
Ahead of the forthcoming October 10 Governorship election in Ondo state, over three thousand members of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), People’s Democratic party (PDP) and other Political Parties in Ilaje local government have joined the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP).
They disclosed their decision at a local government meeting of the ZLP held Wednesday.
The grassroots mobilizers, who were led by Hon. Akinbuwa Apokan from the twelve wards in the local government, said it became necessary to join the ZLP because they want to be part of Political revolution to rescue the sunshine state.
Akinbuwa said he decided to lead the people to the ZLP to support Hon. Agboola Ajayi, the party’s candidate’s ambition because of the Party’s developmental agenda for the common masses in Ondo state, against the few individuals who are striving for personal benefits rather than the good of the larger majority of the people.
The Ilaje local government Chairman of the ZLP Hon. (Comr) Adetola Egbeyighan, in his remark appreciated the decision of the new decampees.
He said:
“We cannot but appreciate everyone of you for coming out en mass to honour the call for today’s meeting, may the Lord bless you and yours in Jesus name.”
Egbeyighan also commended the efforts of other leaders who led their teaming supporters to back up the Zenith Labour Party from other Political Parties.
He said;
the temple of the ruling All Progress Congress and PDP will crumble with this new development, as far as we are concern and I know for sure that with our unanimous decision to rescue the State from the present government, Agboola Ajayi will definitely come out victorious over other contenders.
Former gubernatorial candidate of the ZLP, Hon. (Comr) Olarotimi Benjamin Imani and other Southern leaders of the ZLP in Ondo state also Commended the new member for their decision.
Cmrd. Emmanuel Balogun, the Party state youth leader who mobilized over six hundred to the meeting equally welcomed the new party stakeholders into the ship of the Zenith Labour Party, urging them not to relent in their quest for good governance.
Hon. Adesoji Ayenuro, a former Chairman of Ilaje local government sent his words of encouragement, he encouraged the party members from across the nooks and crannies of Ilaje local government to be more steadfast in their believes in the Party as the governorship election draws closer, he also reassure them of his maximum support.
Some other leaders present in the meeting are; Hon Orisamoluwa Adekunle ( former House of Assembly candidate of the ZLP Ilaje Constituency 1), Hon Marshal ( Former leader of council), Hon Balogun ( former local govt supervisor) and host of others.
