Ondo 2024: PDP Guber Aspirant, Akinwumi Meets Party Leaders in Ifedore

The leading People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship Aspirant, Mr. Adeolu Akinwumi and his Campaign Group (Team Óyá) has paid a courtesy visit to the PDP Party Leadership of Ifedore Local Government area of Ondo state.

According to a statement by Mr. Temidayo Fayeun, the Director of Organization of
Team Óyá, the consultation visit, which was held on Friday was in continuation of his State-wide consultative tour in projection of his gubernatorial aspiration. It witnessed a huge turnout of the Party Leadership represented by the LG Executive Committee, which comprised all the 10 Ward Chairmen in attendance.

In his message, he narrated that PDP being the oldest political party in the State, will certainly bounce back to power by winning the next governorship election, stressing that the days of despair are over, with his aspiration which promises hope and prosperity for the party.

According to him, PDP is, and remains formidable in spite of the seeming challenges confronting the party, particularly the party’s loss at the last general elections.

While he acknowledged that the party’s performance in the last general elections was a far decline from its 2019 election standing in Ondo State, he said he is confident that the factors that accounted for the electoral loss of the party will be duly addressed by the leadership of the Party stressing that the fundamental step in moving forward is to rejig our collective determination to win the next governorship election slated for 2024.

Adeolu applauded the Party leadership in Ifedore LG for their strong resolve over time to stand with the party at all times as further demonstrated by their trooping out in good numbers to receive him.

In his words, “the party must ensure two cardinal considerations to win next year’s governorship election; firstly to ensure that the candidate of the party is picked from the southern senatorial district of the State and secondly to field a young and vibrant candidate with demonstrable creative energy, innovative ability, deep sense of understanding of the gaps in governance, public service experience and a committed party faith who has a sterling record of loyalty to the party. These attributes he noted confirms that he is the ideal candidate to fly the PDP flag in next year’s governorship election.

In his welcome remark, the Acting Chairman of PDP in Ifedore Local Government Area, Mr. Fasore Oladipo, expressed the delight of the party leadership in Ifedore LG with the bold step taken by Adeolu Akinwumi at this auspicious time, in vying for the party’s Governorship ticket, expressing his satisfaction that the visiting Aspirant has demonstrated that he possesses the requisite credentials for the top job of the State.

Some other members of the Executive Committee present, took to their turn to render words of encouragement, prayers and pledged support for his aspiration.

The Team Óyá delegation later paid a condolence visit to the Widow of the late Party Chairman of PDP Ifedore LG, where he comforted the family and offered prayers for the repose of the soul of the deceased.
