Ondo APC Condemns Assault on Commissioner
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State has said it is deeply amazed at the unfortunate assault on the Honorable Commissioner for Women Affairs, Dr. (Mrs.) Bunmi Orisadahunsi, at the weekend.
The party also condemned in strong terms the crude behavior and unbelievable level indisciple exhibited by one of its officers, Mr. Olumide Awolumate.
According to a statement signed by Mr. Alex Kalejaye, the Party’s state Publicity Secretary, in an emergency meeting at the State Secretariat in Akure on Monday, that was presided over by the State Chairman, Engr. Ade Adetimehin, the party expressed disappointment by the conducts of the ward chairman.
“We are still wondering what could have pushed him into exhibiting that degree of primitive affront on a highly placed party chieftain, and serving Commissioner”, the party lamented.
The State Secretariat called for the immediate suspension of the chairman by the ward leaders, assuring that further disciplinary actions will follow later.
Ondo APC warned members of its executive to always embrace civility and self-discipline at all times. It is expedient to accord respect to party elders and constituted authorities.
The statement further cautioned that it would not condone or encourage any form of unruly behaviors or embarrassing conducts from its officers and members.
