Ondo 2020: Oke, Akeredolu’s followers unite in Akoko, Pledge to ensure APC wins
Major stakeholders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Arigidi/Iye Ward (1) of Akoko Northwest local government of Ondo state from Mr. Olusola Oke, SAN and Governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s camps have met to join forces towards to October 10 election in the state.
The Party Leaders equally agreed that APC is no longer divided as unity and harmony now exist among all groups with one purpose of winning the upcoming elections for APC and Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
A stakeholder in APC, Chief Mrs Tinuade Komolafe, and one of the directors of Olusola One support group told Nigerian Cable news online that the purpose of the meeting is to unite all members of APC and make sure they work together as a team to support Governor Akeredolu so that he can win the October 10, 2020 election.
She said:
“we met to join hands together so that there is nothing like Aketi group or anybody’s group. We are one in APC. So I want my Ward to work in unity, to support the governor so that our party will continue to rule for as long as possible. When we perform, we will continue to rule the state. Our party is our party. Our governor is going for another four years, so we have to suppcrt him to achieve this.”
Komolafe also campaigned for the election of all APC candidates at the coming local governments eelection in Ondo State coming up on Saturday August 22, 2020. She urged electorates to vote for all APC candidates and ensure victory for the party.
Her words:
“Our councillor has to win, and our local governments chairmanship candidate has to win. We have to come together to support them.”
Komolafe also distribute some palliatives to hundreds of members of APC to cushion the effects of the COVID 19 on them during the meeting. She promised to continue to help them. Items distributed include food items and cash for the party members.
The Party’s chairmanship candidate in Akoko Northwest local government in the upcoming August 22, 2020 local governments election, Elder Ayodele Akande used the opportunity of the meeting to convass for votes and support of the party members promising to make their lives better if elected as the chairman.
He also urged the people to work hard to elect governor Akeredolu for second term in office so as to consolidate on his achievements. He assured more than five hundred APC members gathered at the meeting that there is no longer team Aketi and not longer Olusola Oke group. He said All they have now is team APC, saying this will earn the party victory in the coming elections.
The Ward chairman, Elder Akin Akogun explained that the meeting was to rekindle the fire of APC in the Ward and to unite leaders and members of the party. He made it clear that they don’t want to disappoint governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
“As you know, Arigidi/Iye Ward 1 is a very heavy Ward. It is a Ward that has been working very well. It is a Ward that the governor himself realises has been supporting him since 2012. We don’t want to fail. That is why we have been planning on how to give him a very good support, ” he said.
He assured their supporters that now that Olusola Oke support group has merged with team Aketi, the chance of the party winning is fantastic.
He said they will surprise everybody. He boasted that their Ward is big with 24 units and they will deliver it.
