Ondo 2020: APC announces date for campaign flag-off
The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the date for the commencement of the Party’s active campaign towards the October 10 governorship election in Ondo state.
Governor oluwarotimi akeredolu, during an all encompassing APC stakeholders meeting in akure said the campaign will be flagged-off in the first week of September 2020.
Akeredolu charged the party leaders to use Saturday’s local elections to confirm the APC’s popularity ahead the governorship election.
He said his reelection is to guarantee continuity in governance and more space for party members to participate in governance.
Akeredolu urged them to sustain the ongoing reconcilation efforts and well replicate the meeting at the local government, wards and unit levels for the party’s victory in October.
The governor also assured of more high level stakeholders’ meetings to demonstrate the onesness of the APC and determination to retain the state in the October polls.
The roll call of participants include two former deputy governors, alli olanusi, lasisi oluboyo, akeredolu’s running mate, lucky aiyedatiwa, federal lawmaker, ade adeogun, aspirants in the July primaries and other party chieftains.

welcoming the stakeholders, the state APC chairman, Adetimehin, emphasised the need for all to put behind them all internal differences that existed before and after the party primary.
According to him, all hand must be on deck to achieve their collective aspirations of winning the October governorship election.
He enjoined all stakeholders to always explore the use of the party’s internal mechanism of crisis resolution in all matters in order to have a strong, cohesive, vibrant homogeneous and indivisible party capable of winning elections at all times.
“We are one, APC is my party, your party and our party. Akeredolu is my Governor, your governor and our Governor. Under the leadership of Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, SAN, whose appellation is known as AKETI, all of us now belong to Aketi and Team APC”, Adetimehin added.
a former Southwest vice chairman, chief Patrick akinyelure said the presence of gladiators at the high level meeting emphasized the place of unity ahead of the October polls.
Aspirants in the July primaries present include issac kekemeke, chief bukola adetula, blessing akinsehinwa, and Prof dayo faduyile urged those still aggrieved to forget the past support the akerdolu aiyedatiwa ticket.
Others including ife oyedele, sola iji, olusegun Abraham, olusola oke, Jimi odimayo who spoke through their representatives promised to collapse their structures as well as donate human and material resources for the success of akeredolu’s re-election
