NGO, HAMDROMI feeds, clothes thousands of Aged Residents in Ondo

HAMDROMI, a non governmental organization (NGO) has distributed food items and clothing materials to over two thousand (2,000) aged residents of Ondo state.

The old men and women, aged sixty five (65) years and above were gifted with the packs of food and clothes at the annual thanksgiving ceremony of the (NGO), tagged ‘Let the Old Rejoice’, held on Wednesday at the civic center in Ondo kingdom.
In her opening remark, Dr. Rhoda Makinde, the Convener of the event spoke on it’s essence.
He said:
“Giving thanks is very important in our daily relationship with God, and the packages we are about to distribute today is to ensure our aged mothers and fathers enjoy this season of Christmas. My husband and I also believe the old in our society should be taken care of, as one day, we will all grow old too.”
Also speaking at the event, the member representing Ondo East/ Ondo West Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Honourable Abiola Makinde said:
“This year’s annual Thanksgiving programme of HAMDROMI with the distribution of gift packs to our old fathers and mothers is to remind them that as their children, we will by God’s grace continue to remember them as they are now getting old. This Thanksgiving is to also appreciate all what God has done for us all through the year.”
Contained in each pack distributed at the event is rice, vegetable oil, canned tomato, beans, garri, sugar, salt, spaghetti, and 6 yards of Ankara cloth material.
While appreciating the gifts, a 68 year old beneficiary, Mrs. Sabainah Akinnifesi, said: “I was thinking I won’t have food to cook for christmas but now I will cook and enjoy this Christmas because of this gift.”
In her words, Mrs. Bolanle Olurankinse, a 71 years old beneficiary said
“I am happy today that HAMDROMI is putting smile on my face. Food and clothing materials are expensive now in the market, I had given up on buying anything because I can’t afford food, but I thank God for this gift pack. It will go a long way in feeding me.”
The Ondo state Commissioner for Commerce, Industry, and Cooperatives, Deaconess ‘Lola Fagbemi, who was a Guest at the event appreciated Hon. Makinde and his wife, Dr. Rhoda for their kind gestures towards serving humanity.
