Aiyetoro Leaders To Ondo Government: Call Oluwambe To Order, Or….
Leaders of Aiyetoro community in Ilaje local government of Ondo state
have urged the state government, to as a matter of urgency call to order, one Oluwambe Ojagbohunmi, who has been parading himself as the Ogeloyinbo.
At a press conference in Akure, the leaders including Archbishop Eremibo Eretan, Baba Ijo & Member, Ogeloyinbo-in-Council, Most Rev.Ap. Ajijo, Most Rev. Ap. Henry Ojagbohunmi, former chairman of Ilaje LGA, Tola Alabere and Most Rev. Dele Kudehinbu, Secretary-General of Ogeloyinbo-in-Council of Aiyetoro, said this is to prevent total breakdown of law and order in the community.
Speaking on behalf of the elders, Most Rev. Dele Kudehinbu stated that the community installed Oba Micah Ajijo in 2015, with all pomp and ceremony as well as approval of relevant authorities in the state.
He added that Mr Oluwambe Ojagbounmi however mobilized his prayer warrior gang to protest against Oba Ajijo’s appointment which was the beginning of prevailing crisis in the community
The secretary-general noted that efforts by government at both local and state, security agents and important personalities from the town to allow peace to reign by supporting Oba Ajijo fell on Ojagbohunmi’s deaf ears.
He said at the peace meeting held on Sept. 28, between the factions, initiated by the Deputy Governor, Mr Agboola Ajayi, it was agreed that Oba Ajijo should be the Ogeloyinbo of the community following his appointment by the appropriates body.
He added that Ojagbounmi should be the head prophet in the community while all court cases are to be withdrawn.
Kudehinbu however accused Ojagbounmi of breaching the agreement by ordering members of his group to a factional church where he declared himself as the new Ogeloyinbo (Oba) of the community.
“This young man embarked on all these strange actions with his delegation to become king of Aiyetoro community and leader of holy apostles’ church, even though the position is not vacant.
” We have promptly and officially reported this sad development to Ondo State Government and Appropriate security agencies.
“We use this forum to appeal to Ondo state government to call this impostor to order with a view to preventing a complete breakdown of law and order in the community,” he said.
Kudehinbu said the elders council were not ready to joining issues with Ojagbounmi so as to prevent the violence that he wanted.
In his reaction, Ojagbohunmi who spoke through one Prince Victor Akinluwa, challenged the Oba Micah Ajijo to produce video evidence of his installation and that he was the real Ogeloyinbo.
“The founding elders and the entire people of Ayetoro community had spoken and they spoke loud and clear.
“The mandate had been given to Oba Oluwambe Ojagbohunmi and we are committed to defend it any time and anywhere,”
