Mimiko To Address Over 1000 Youths At Ondo City Facebook Hangout, Today
Former Governor of Ondo State and the 2019 Zenith Labour Party Ondo Central Senatorial Candidate, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, will deliver the keynote address at the 2018 edition of the annual Ondo City Facebook Hangout Scheduled to hold at Eki Faaji Recreation center on Sunday by 5pm.
The former Governor, who will also be declaring open the annual social gathering will be speaking on “Governance in the Digital Age: Lessons from the Developed Economies”.
A statement by Mimiko’s Special Assistant on New Media and Digital Communications, John Paul Akinduro, said the Ondo City Facebook Hangout is an annual social event which offers virtual friends a common platform to physically network.
Akinduro quoted the organisers as saying the event “is envisioned to put Ondo City in a beautiful spotlight and promote its Youths, culture and the kingdom.”
“This year’s edition with the theme “TechFuture” is expected to attract over 1000 youths and awaken the youths to the amazing opportunities the information, communication and technology offer and also encourage Ondo indigenes to the possibility of establishing the first digital hub in Ondo City,” the statement read.
Attendees, according to the organisers, will also be learning basic 21st century digital skills at this year’s session.
As Ondo state Governor, Mimiko received local and international accolades for building ICT-compliant primary schools, training young people on technology and deploying e-governance tools for the day-to-day running of government.
