JUST IN: Buhari Speaks On The Outcome Of His Meeting With Security Chiefs
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari has hinted on the reason behind his urgent meeting with service chiefs in the last hours.
For a quality time, Buhari, alongside Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo went in what can be described in a thorough and expedient meeting with the Cheid of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Burutai, the Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), as well as the Comptroller General of Immigrations, among others, following the dominant internal threat to the security of the nation entirely.
Before now, aggrieved herdsmen have been alleged to be involved in the killings of some people across Taraba, Benue and Kaduna within the last one month of the year and are even allegedly spreading hands to Ekiti, the southwestern state of the country.
Tweeting briefly after today’s meeting, President Buhari said his administration is determined to proffer a lasting solution to the imminent crises, which will earn them the confidence of Nigerians.
“Today, I presided over a meeting of the Security Council. We fully understand the seriousness and urgency of Nigeria’s security issues, and are determined to implement carefully considered solutions that will not only earn the confidence of Nigerians, but also stand the test of time”, the president wrote on his official Twitter handle.
