Former Ondo Rep, Akinlaja bags Life Time Achievement Award

Former member of the House of representative, Dr. Joseph Akinlaja has been honoured for his numerous achievements and contributions to humanity and the development of Ondo kingdom.

Akinlaja, who represented Ondo East and West Federal constituency in the 7th & 8th Assembly was decorated with a ” life time achievements award in public Administration and community development” by the Lions Club district 404 A-1 Ondo kingdom chapter.

In his acceptance speech, Akinlaja showed appreciation for the recognition among the multitude in the community, especially when it has to do with community development.

“As a community conscious person, my major priority at all time is to see how to better the lot of others in whatever capacity i can”.

“as we all know, lion club is a well recognized humanitarian society poised for helping the less privileged ,widows, orphans and the downtroddens.”

“I share the views and aspirations of the Lions Club in lending a helping hand to the vulnerable and it’s only God that can reciprocate”. He added.

He charged the lion club across the globe to continue giving back to the society, adding that great reward awaits them not only here on Earth, but also in heaven.

He urged all well meaning Ondo sons and daughters to emulate the Lion club by being philanthropic in their dealings with others.

He appealed to Ondo youths to embrace peace and shun act capable of disrupting the existing peace being enjoyed in the ancient community, noting that it is when a community is devoid of rancour that development can thrive.
