Many Dead as 18-Passengers bus Plunges into Ondo River

A yet to be ascertained number of people have lost their lives in a Sunday afternoon fatal accident at the Owena River Bridge, along Ondo-Akure express road in Ondo state, Nigerian cable news online has gathered.

It was gathered that an 18 seated bus Plunged into the Owena river, after the the driver lost control of the vehicle due to over-speeding

It was also gathered that the bus was heading towards Akure when the incident happened.

An Eyewitness said five of the passengers, including a child have been rescued and taken to the hospital by motorists and men of the FRSC, while some of the passengers have lost their lives at the scene.

The number of the casualties is yet to be ascertained as at the time of filing in this report but some dead people were seen inside the river and rock around beside the scene.
