Eid-el-Fitr: Rep Adeogun Felicitates Muslims, Preaches Love, Tolerance
The member representing Akoko southeast and southwest federal constituency of Ondo state in the House of Representatives, Honorable Ade Adeogun has felicitated Muslims constituents and across the country on the Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
Adeogun, in a statement issued on friday also advocated religious tolerance, while adding that total reverence to the things of God, prayerfulness, love for one another and an unending show of affection should not end with Ramadan among the Muslim faithfuls.
below is the statement unedited:
I congratulate all Muslims in Nigeria and especially Akoko South East and West federal constituency who Allah has permitted to painstakingly go through this year’s Ramadan. It was surely a rigorous self purifying and rewarding journey.
All the activities that normally accompany Ramadan are specifically designed to make us better humans. They are to remind us of the emptiness of the world and the powerlessness of the supposed powerful people. By abstaining from food and drinks, we feel the pulse of others who have nothing to eat on daily basis.
Twenty-nine or thirty days to strictly obey the laws of God should naturally make us good humans as we continue in the things we have learnt. We cannot stop giving alms to the poor, total reverence to the things of God must continue, prayerfulness, love for one another and an unending show of affection should not end with Ramadan.
Importantly, religious tolerance is key and we must continue to pray for the peace of our country and our Federal Constituency. Nothing thrives in a rancorous environment.
May Allah accept all your worships and prayers. May you witness more Ramadan on earth.
