Edo2020: Edo South Youths Endorse Ogiemwonyi

The front line gubernatorial aspirant in the Edo 2020 elections under the All Progressive Congress(APC), Engr. Chris Ogiemwonyi may be coasting home to victory as stakeholders at different levels keeping endorsing his ambition.

Seven youth bodies made up of young activists in Edo South have joined hands under the auspices of the PROGRESSIVE YOUTH GROUPS to support the gubernatorial hopeful.

In a joint statement sent to Nigerian cable news online, the amalgamated groups said it was a wake-up call on all APC members in Edo South to begin working for the emergence of Engineer Chris Ogiemwonyi as the consensus candidate of the APC.

The group said its members cut across all the wards in Edo South and that they are energetically ready to deliver Eng Chris Ogiemwonyi as the next Governor of the State, they also noted that its call and endorsement of Ogemwonyi to contest the state governorship under the APC platform was premised on his excellent records in the oil and gas industry which he exhibited at the national level.

The groups called on APC leaders to consider Chris Ogiemwonyi ahead of Obaseki who they claim lacked compassion and loyalty for the party and its members.

They claim what Edo State needs now is someone who is compassionate and ready to listen to the plights of the masses and proffer lasting solutions.

The Group passionately called on Adams Oshiomhole and the leaders of the APC to make sure they get it right this time around by making Ogiemwonyi their consensus candidate.

‘Over the years we have benefited from the generosity of Eng Chris Ogiemwonyi, scholarships, youth empowerment, health intervention as well as assistance to accident victims and disease control to all and sundry across the state”

His recent proactiveness in the COVID-19 pandemic is also an eye-opener. Accordingly, the statement noted with passion how Ogiemwonyi ensured he reached out to all with palliative measures.

We are strongly and solidly behind and promise to give him our full support.

The Statement was signed by Charles Igbinosa on behalf of the amalgamated groups.
