EDO2020: Edo Professionals Endorse Ogiemwonyi
More than 30 professional bodies both in the diaspora and Edo State have sent a letter to the APC front runner in the Edo 2020 elections, Eng Chris Ogiemwonyi to express their unequivocal support for his aspiration to contest as the Governor of Edo State.
The letter was sent to the Ogiemwonyi’s political family on Monday.
Organisations that signed included advocacy groups, civil society organisations, NGO’s, Health bodies, underprivileged associations and religious bodies.
They say they are throwing their weight behind the front line aspirant having studied all the gubernatorial aspirants and have come to the conclusion that Ogiewmonyi is the right man for the job.
His experience as a former staff at NNPC and a former minister of state for works has shown that he has the necessary background to take over from the present administration.
The group said they were with the Gubernatorial hopeful both in body and soul, they thanked him for the act of bravely to stand up and offer himself as a willing tool to serve the interest of the people of the state.
“This represents an endorsement from a wide range of the masses who we represent in different capacities.
We hope that the APC avails you the opportunity to bring your unblemished record of performance and integrity to turn around the fortunes of the State.
We strongly believe that Ogiewmonyi will ensure diversification of the economy through agriculture, adequate supply of power, massive industrialization, thereby creating employment for our teeming youths.”
Meanwhile the incumbent Governor of the State, Godwin Obaseki is reportedly seeking an alternative platform to launch for his reelection bid as the APC direct primaries fast approaches.
On Saturday the governor was alleged to have met with the State chairman of Action Alliance in Edo and explored ways of his admittance into the party.
The Governor has been having a running battle with the State leadership of APC under the control of the Adams Oshiomhole national working committee.
Signed….
