Breaking News: Ali Olanusi’s Kinsman, Olagunju, Dies At 90
A political associate of the late governor Adebayo Adefarati, and National Legal Adviser of the defunct National Republican Convention of Nigeria, (N.R.C.), barrister Rufus Ariyo, Olagunju is dead.
Barr Olagunju joined his ancestors this morning at the State Specialist Hospital, Akure, Ondo State after a brief illness. He died at the age of 90 years.
Barr Rufus Ariyo Olagunju was a member of the constituent Assembly in Nigeria in the year 1977 which drafted the 1979 Republican constitution of Nigeria. He also served as chairman of the Hope newspaper under the late governor Adebayo Adefarati administration between 1999-2003. Barr. Olagunju was part of think-Thank that achieved the creation of Ondo State many years ago.
Barr Olagunju hails from Supare Akoko in Ondo State and succeeded by wives and children . He was also an uncle to the former deputy governor of Ondo State , Ahlaji Ali Olanusi.
Speaking to our correspondent on phone, Mr. Samuel Abey, one of his inlaws, who is married to Olabisi , described the late lawyer as a distinguished inlaw, humanist and a community leader who was a father to everyone in the family.
On inquiry, the burial arrangement shall be announced later by head of the family of the deceased.
