Boko Haram: Buratai Deploys ‘Killer’ Troops To Borno, Others
The Chief of Army Staff Lt. Gen T. Buratai has ordered that more Armed Forces troops be deployed to the northeast part of Nigeria, as a part of the final step of the military to “eliminate” Boko Haram.
After several years of combating the insurgent group, the Nigerian Army has launched #OperationLASTHOLD set to totally eradicate their activities in the northern part of Nigeria where they mostly unleash their bloodshed.
The Army sent an additional four brigades to aid the military operation.
The official statement by the Nigerian Army revealed that ‘furtherance of its resolve to ensure that the ongoing #OperationLASTHOLD in the North East achieves the desired result, additional troops and heavy equipment have been earmarked to beef up those already deployed”
“Additional 4 maneouvre brigades and equipment are already on standby for onward movement to the Operation area as ordered by the Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen TY Buratai.
The end state of #OperationLASTHOLD is the total defeat of Boko Haram Terrorists to facilitate the restoration of fishing, farming and other economic activities in the Lake Chad Basin general area”, it added.
