UPDATE: Why I Will Rebuild Ayefele’s Demolished Building – Ajimobi

In what can be likened to a retracing of steps, Governor Abiola Ajimobi has vowed to rebuild the demolished Music House of ace musician, Yinka Ayefele.

The partial bulldozing of the gigantic building said to cost N800 million naira, hosting his radio station, Fresh FM, happened in the early morning of last Sunday after the notice by the state on the ground that it contravenes state planning law.

As the management of the Music House disagreed with the Oyo state government’s stance, Ayefele’s position was widely welcomed by the populace and sympathy was garnered for his brief loss.

Notable personalities had criticised Governor Ajimobi and described him a tyrant.

After much controversies, the governor hosted the popular artiste in his Agodi office to reconcile over the issue.

The meeting was also attended by dignitaries like Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, the Alaafin of Oyo, Chief Bayo Adelabu Mr. Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe, the gubernatorial aspirants in the state among others.

At the commemoration of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji’s 90th birthday on Sunday, Ajimobi said his “administration will take up the responsibility of rebuilding the N800 Music House, belonging to popular gospel musician, Yinka Adefele, because he does not want his political enemies to use that to attack his administration”.

Before the governor made this assurance, there was a mild drama, as Ayefele on arriving at the venue, went to greet Governor Ajimobi, making many guests at the ceremony to hail the popular gospel musician.

The governor however said he has not personal issua against the musician especially after the reconciliatory meeting.
