UPDATE: Journalist Behind IGP’s Viral Video Now Missing

Mr Aminu Nurudeen, a journalist with Voice of Liberty Newspaper, an arm of Liberty Television,  said to have exclusively reported the trending video of the Inspector General of Police, Mr Ibrahim Idris, caught up struggling while reading a speech at the commissioning of Technical Intelligence Unit in Kano, can no longer be found.

As soon as the ‘transmission’ video as tagged by public got online, it became embarrassing that the Kano Police Command through its spokesman, Musa Magaji Majiya invited the journalist for questioning.

As gathered, Nurudeen ignored the invitation by Police and went into hiding.

While the Inspector General of Police discredited the authenticity of the video on Thursday on the ground that it was doctored, it was however gathered that that the Kano police command had earlier instructed present journalists at the event not to release the clip because of the IGP’s obvious flaws.

The newspaper in question further reported that the IGP’s blunder brought an abrupt end to the event.

“He has however ordered an investigation into the leakage of the video but we are watching to see how he intends to deal with the individuals behind the viral video without further embarrassing himself and the force,” the newspaper quoted a source as saying.
