UPDATE: EFCC Releases Ondo lawmaker on Bail
The Economic and Financial crime commission (EFCC) has released the lawmaker representing Akoko South West I, Felemu Gudu-Bankole and Clerk of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Mr. Bode Adeyelu from detention.
Their released comes after they have met with the bail condition.
Nigeriancablenewsonline.com had Reported how the two were detained after responding to the invitation of the Anti-graft agency over alleged 2.4 seminar fraud last week
The house had accused the lawmaker representing odigbo constituency1, iroju ogundeji of being behind the detention of the principal officers, following a petition written to the EFCC.
But, iroju said his move to filed the petition is in order to clear his name from the said money been collected on his behalf to attend a seminar that does not exist.
Meanwhile, the anti-graft agency has extended invitations to more lawmakers of the Assembly for questioning next week over alleged committee fraud.
Chairman House Committee on Information Youth and Sports Development, Olugbenga Omole confirmed the release of the lawmaker and the Clerk.
Omole said he was yet to be briefed on reports that the EFCC was extending same invitations to other lawmakers.
