UPDATE: Buhari, Atiku Absent At 2019 Presidential Debate
The Presidential candidates of the All Progressive’s Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party, Muhammadu Buhari and Atiku Abubakar are evidently absent at the on-going debate organized by the National Electoral Debate Group and Broadcasting Organization of Nigeria.
The debate moderated by Mark Eddo has on the podium three of the five presidential candidates invited including Kingsley Moghalu, Fela Durotoye and Oby Ezekwesili.
It’s still unclear why the two leading candidates of APC and PDP are not present as no official reason was made public.
It’s also doubtful if thsg will join in later in the two and half hours debate ongoing.
Back to history, in 2011, the Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate and then incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan was also absent in the debate but ended up winning the election that year.
