Super Eagles’ Victor Moses Defeated As African Footballer Of The Year Nominee
Victor Moses and others footballers of Gabon’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Guinean Naby Keita and Sadio Mane of Senegal have been defeated by the
Egyptian Mohamed Salah to win the BBC African Footballer of the Year for 2017.
He won by having the highest number of votes among other nominees.
Speaking with BBC Sport, the 25-year-old Salah expressed his joy to win such award.
“I am very happy to win this award.”
“It’s always a special feeling when you win something. I feel like I had a great year, so I’m very happy.”
By winning the BBC African Footballer of the year prize, Salah, the Premier League’s top scorer and Liverpool player, adds his name to a list of legends including Jay-Jay Okocha (Nigeria), Didier Drogba (Ivory Coast) and Michael Essien.
