RTEAN Elects Comr. Osakpamwan Eriyo As National President

By Deji Adebayo, Abuja

The Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) has appointed Comrade Osakpamwan Eriyo as the national president of the association.

A statement made available to Nigeriacablenewsonline.com in Abuja signed by the RTEAN national secretary, Comr. Yusuf Adeniyi said that the decision was upheld at the end of an exhaustive and most elaborate deliberation by the principal national executives of the association.

The association said the previous ban on the former chairman of Lagos State, Alh. Musa Mohammed and subsequent expulsion of his membership has been duly reversed, adding that he is now a full-fledged member of the association.

It said the restoration of his positions as both state chairman of Lagos State and deputy national president (admin) came as a result of the due intervention of critical interest groups, individuals which has been duly ratified by the NEC.

It further added that cases already pending in the court in this respect are withdrawn forthwith.

The statement reads in part: ‘’After a very critical review of the prevailing circumstance in the Association, as it relates to the change of its leadership, a Vote of Confidence has been further passed on Comrade Eriyo, as the executive national president of the association.

‘’The restored Lagos State chairman/deputy president (admin) has been directed to receive and accept other members in the state into the fold of the Lagos State chapter of the association as recommended by NEC.

‘’The care taker committee initially constituted to run the affairs of the state when the ban was in place is hereby dissolved and withdrawn henceforth.

‘’All security agencies, governments and relevant ministries will be issued with written information on all issues as far raised.’’

The statement said that the restored state chairman/deputy national president (admin) is required by the NEC to resume back his positions to show loyalty, commitment and dedication to duty as ever.

It added that the already printed tickets in possession of deputy national president should be brought back or submitted to the headquarters in Abuja without further delay.
