‘Remove Yourself As Minister Of Petroleum’ – Shehu Sani Tells Buhari
The lawmaker representing Kaduna Central senatorial district, Senator Shehu Sani has advised President Buhari to appoint a competent person as the Minister of Petroleum Resources and take a back seat in the sector oil.
President Buhari as the minister as the petroleum minister can be dragged into twisted issues between the Nigerian National Petroleum Corruption General Managing Director, Dr. Maikanti Baru and the minister of state for petroleum resource, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, as contained in the letter of the latter to President.
Sani asked Buhari to put in his stead someone that will be accountable for all activities as he cannot be involved in a time-consuming affairs as such.
“President Buhari should disengage from being a Petroleum Minister and appoint a substantive minister whom the nation can hold accountable to the happenings in the nation oil industry.
“The President position as a minister can drag him into issues in the oil sector of which he has limited time to attend to.
“A broom immersed in oil cannot sweep clean”, he stated.
