Osun Re-run Election: After Saraki; Fayemi, Other APC Leaders Visit Omisore
The residence of Social Democratic Party’s gubernatorial candidate in Osun state, Sen. Iyiola Omisore has become busy with staunch Nigerian politicians as the Ekiti state governor-elect, Kayode Fayemi lead some members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to his Ife house.
Of the four local government areas where Osun state would be having rerun on Thursday, Ife, which is the stronghold of Omisore, carries two of them – that is Ife north and south.
Other two are in Orolu and Osogbo.
Senate President Bukola Saraki had on Monday led Peoples Democratic Party members to dialogue with Omisore to seek his support to defeat APC.
While receiving Saraki on Monday, Omisore listed the conditions under which he would work for any of the two
leading parties.
“I have given my programmes to both the APC and the PDP. My programme is like this; payment of salaries and pensions. Good governance is what is important to me,” he had told reporters after the meeting.
“Anyone between the two that will do that will get my support. I am passionate about Osun State and my interest is the welfare of the people of this state. I have told those sent to me. At the appropriate time, we will tell you where we are going.”
The outcome of today’s Fayemi-led APC meeting with Omisore is not yet known.
