Ondo Rep Member, Omogbehin Mourns Deceased Ikale Monarch
Hon. Mike Omogbehin, member representing Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency, has commiserated with the people of Irele over the demise of their paramount ruler, Oba Olarewaju Lebi.
The federal lawmaker described the passing on of the monarch as a great loss to the people of Irele in particular, and Ikale race in general.
In a statement personally signed, Omogbehin said: “I am enveloped with a deep sense of nostalgia that our great Kabiyesi, a great-grandfather, grandfather, father, uncle and iconoclastic royal father of exemplary carriage and conduct, who sustained and promoted the dignity of Ikale values, has joined his ancestors.”
“Our hearts are heavy, laden with pains and grief at the announcement of the passing-on to eternal glory of Olofun of Irele kingdom, Oba Olarewaju Lebi; a distinguished Ikale numero uno, an accomplished Nigerian, an administrator, quintessential unifier, unique personage and exemplary Olofun whose reign brought distinction, worthy finesse and integrity to traditional institution in Ikale land, and the nation at large.”
While addressing newsmen in his Abuja office, the obviously grieving Omogbehin stated, in sobriety; “ The late Olofun was one of the few traditional rulers in the land who immensely contributed to the unity of Ikale through his utterances and actions, however, lkale people would have preferred that our kabiyesi lives on to continue playing that patriotic role, but God knows the best.”
The federal lawmaker prays that God will grant him a peaceful repose.
