Ondo North Senatorial District Artisan’s Groups (ONSDAG) Defends Hon. Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo Against False NYSC Allegations

The Ondo North Senatorial District Artisan Group (ONSDAG) has expressed strong support for the Honourable Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, following a recent petition and widespread misinformation regarding his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) status.

In a statement issued by the Head of Artisans, Olalekan Joseph Aroge, and the Public Relations Officer, Kayode Oke, the association described the allegations as malicious, unfounded, and politically motivated, aimed at tarnishing the image of a leader whose integrity and achievements continue to inspire hope across Nigeria.

> “It is unfortunate that certain individuals, instead of celebrating excellence, have chosen to fabricate stories to distract a hardworking public servant who has dedicated himself to national development,” Olalekan Joseph Aroge stated.

He emphasized that such attempts to undermine credible leaders are counterproductive and unpatriotic, urging the public to disregard the falsehoods.

> “Those behind this baseless petition are enemies of progress who cannot stand the success of a visionary reformer,” Aroge added. “Their desperate tactics will not change the fact that Hon. Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has served Nigeria with distinction, innovation, and transparency.”

Minister’s Response to the Petition

In response to the recent petition concerning his NYSC status, Hon. Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo reaffirmed his commitment to truth, transparency, and the rule of law.
He clarified that all aspects of his academic and professional background were duly verified and cleared by relevant authorities prior to his public appointments.

Describing the renewed attacks as “an orchestrated distraction from the genuine reforms currently transforming the Ministry of Interior,” the Minister stated:

> “My focus remains on delivering effective service to Nigerians and ensuring that our systems work efficiently and transparently. I urge the public to ignore politically motivated falsehoods.”

Transformative Achievements Under His Leadership

According to Olalekan Joseph Aroge, Dr. Tunji-Ojo’s tenure as Minister of Interior has ushered in a new era of transparency, efficiency, and digital transformation, setting new standards for public service delivery in Nigeria.

Enhanced Internal Security Coordination:
Strengthened collaboration between the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), Federal Fire Service (FFS), and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) — ensuring unified internal security and improved emergency response.

Correctional Centre Reforms:
Initiatives to decongest correctional facilities, enhance inmate welfare, and promote rehabilitation and vocational training — reducing recidivism and supporting reintegration.

Fire and Safety Modernization:
Upgrading of the Federal Fire Service with new fire trucks, state-of-the-art equipment, and digital emergency alert systems — improving nationwide fire response capacity.

Staff Welfare and Human Capacity Development:
Institutionalized staff training, promotions, and welfare packages that have boosted morale and professionalism across all agencies.

E-Government and Transparency Drive:
The introduction of online application and tracking systems that allow Nigerians to monitor their service requests in real time — promoting accountability and trust.

“These achievements,” Aroge stated, “are not just administrative milestones, but transformational steps that have positioned the Ministry of Interior as a model for innovation and service delivery in Nigeria. Dr. Tunji-Ojo has redefined public sector leadership with passion, integrity, and results.”

Commendation for the President and Call for Support

The Ondo North Senatorial District Artisan Group, under the leadership of Olalekan Joseph Aroge, commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his foresight in appointing Dr. Tunji-Ojo, describing him as one of the brightest stars in the Renewed Hope administration.
