Ondo 2024: Group Takes Aiyedatiwa’s Community Engagement To Akure North

Community Engagement for Lucky Aiyedatiwa (CELA) takes its Outreach Program to rural communities within Akure North Local Government. This initiative aimed to garner support for the continuity of Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa as Governor of Ondo State and promote his rural development agenda.

The CELA team conducted a comprehensive grassroots campaign, engaging with community members to raise awareness about Governor Aiyedatiwa’s initiatives and gather feedback on areas of improvement. Through door-to-door visits, town hall meetings, and interactive sessions, we were able to gauge the widespread support for the Governor’s rural development agenda and his commitment to uplifting marginalized communities.

During the engagement, community leaders across Akure North lauded the Governor’s unprecedented inclusion of rural areas in his governance strategy. Oba Omotayo Adu, the Asinigbo of Isinigbo, praised Aiyedatiwa as “a listening Governor,” highlighting the administration’s receptiveness to rural voices. “We are therefore calling on him to ensure that the state government takes over our community school for effective education. Our letter is already before him, and we seek his approval.”

Oba Adeshina, the Olu of Eleyowo appreciated the Governor for keeping in touch with the grassroots through CELA initiative and opined that if sustained, the rural communities will be more connected to Sustainable development.

Youths in Daada community, however, stated their readiness to support the state government in its bid to ensure food security. According to them, the community has the capacity to produce enough food to feed the state and government intervention in Agriculture and security can improve this capacity such that the community will be able to feed the nation.

The CELA team, led by convener Iwakun Adeolu, emphasized Governor Aiyedatiwa administration’s commitment to rural development. Adeolu stressed the importance of community participation in maintaining government projects, reinforcing the partnership between the state and rural dwellers.

Throughout the engagement, CELA observed a strong sense of confidence in Aiyedatiwa’s leadership among rural communities. This grassroots support provides a robust mandate for the administration to further intensify its rural development efforts.

The Media head, Seun Aruwajoye, commended the cooperation and peaceful organization of the community dwellers.

As CELA continues its mission, the initiative aims to take the continuity campaign of Governor Aiyedatiwa to the grassroots and strengthen the synergy between government initiatives and rural development needs across Ondo State. This approach promises to ensure that the benefits of good governance reach every corner of the state, furthering Aiyedatiwa’s vision of inclusive development.
