Nigerian Veteran Journalist Dies, Another Celebrates Birthday At Same Age
The Nigerian Journalism profession has just been thrown in mixed reaction between bereaved and excited as its loses one veteran while another marks a good age on earth.
Gbadebowale Aboderin, the chairman, PUNCH Nigeria Limited died on Wednesday at 6:05am after a heart surgery.
He was aged 60.
He attended Government College, Ibadan, Oyo state, and trained as a pilot in the US.
Aboderin is survived by his wife Titilayo and two daughters, Nicole and Cherelle.
Also, Kunle Ajibade, a Nigerian editor and author is currently commemorating his 60th birthday with colloquiums
Ajibade, who was born 28 May, 1958) was jailed along with General Olusegun
Obasanjo , and three other journalists, were jailed for life on charges of treason by the Military head of state, Sani Abacha on 1995.
A colloquium organised in honor of Ajibade, which was themed
“A Bright Future for Nigeria and How to Get There” was chaired by a veteran journalist, politician and former governor of Ogun State, Olusegun Osoba. It also had other notable bigwigs in attendance like Prof. Wole Soyinka.
