Ondo: Rep Member, Akinfolarin Tasks Religious Leaders, Traditional Rulers On Peaceful Co-existence

Hon. Mayowa Akinfolarin, the members of the house of representatives representing Ile-Oluji Okeigbo / Odigbo Federal constituency in Ondo state has charged traditional heads and religious leaders in his constituency on the need for Peaceful Co-existence among them and their followers.

Akinfolarin said this on Saturday while addressing the leaders at a conference for the sensitization of traditional rulers and religious leaders on the need for peaceful Co-existence held in Ore, Odigbo local government in Ondo state.

The Honourable, who won a re-election in the just concluded general elections on the Platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) also thanked the leaders and electorates for giving him the privilege to represent them for the second term in Office.

According to him, traditional rulers and religious leaders are major factors and contributors in the peace so far enjoyed in his constituency, whose efforts in collaboration with security agencies to maintain peace can not be quantified.

The guest lecturer, Prof. Aboluwoye, who was represented by Dr. Olusiji at the occasion stressed the need for a society where justice prevails, adding that justice and peace are like two sides of a coin. He urged the traditional rulers, religious leaders, political class and the judiciary to Play their institutional roles in ensuring fairness, equity and justice prevail in the society.

While also speaking at the event, Mr. Benedict Egaji, who represented Hajia Sadiya Umar Farouk, the national commissioner in the commission for Refugees Migrants and internally displaced persons, stressed the need to maintain peace in the society, adding that it is the only way to development and progress.

Oba Dr. Adetimehin, the Jegun of Ile-Oluji and Chairman council of Obas in Ile-Oluji Okeigbo local government, in his words appreciated Hon Akinfolarin for facilitating the conference, while also encouraging others representatives and political leaders to emulate the initiative. He also added his voice to the need for peaceful Co-existence for the collective well-being of the people.

Representing the Commissioner of police in Ondo state, APC Segun Ajamolaya, the Area commander in Odigbo local government gave a comprehensive lecture on how the people can assist the police in ensuring a secured society, through vigilance, supply of needed information and friendly relationships with officers for the benefit of all.

Other notable leaders who also learnt their voices to the need for peaceful co-existence at the event include the Ajobu of Araromi-Obu, Oba Adeyemi Adelola, the Orunja of Odigbo kingdom, Oba Akinrinmade Rufus, Oluoke of Okeigbo who was represented by High Chief Isreal Adewole, the Aride of Okeigbo Kingdom, Pastor Adetan CAN Chairman Odigbo LGA
Olojas of communities across the federal constituency, representatives of the Muslim and Christian faiths, Political Associates, and Opinion leaders.

They all commended Hon. Akinfolarin for facilitating the program while pledging their unalloyed cooperation and support for his office.
