Let’s Work Together and Pray – Mimiko at Eid el Kabir

This is a season when all Nigerians must recommit to work together and pray in honesty and love for one another and for our country, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, former governor of Ondo state, has said as Muslims celebrate Eid el Kabir

In a statement by John Paul Akinduro, his Special Assistant on Media and Digital Communications, Mimiko said it is a trying time for Nigeria as the country faces a plethora of unprecedented security and economic challenges.

He said, “In spite of these challenges, we must stick together, fashion out workable and honest solutions to our problems and then pray to God to help actualise our positive plans regardless of our religious, social, political and cultural differences.”

Mimiko called on the security agencies to beef up security at large gatherings, communities, highways and other flash points in the face of recent attack on Kuje prison and wanton killings in different parts of the country.

As he felicitated with Nigerian muslims and “pray this season brings good tidings to everyone as they celebrate Eid el Kabir,” the former governor encouraged muslims to use the Eid season to reach out to their neighbours and the needy in the society and remember that the whole essence of the celebration is love and submission to God and living right by ourselves and by those around us.
