The Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee on Anti-corruption, Prof. Itse Sagay has condemned the National Assembly in its dispensation of roles and responsibilities in Nigeria.
In an interview with Channels TV early this morning, Sagay noted that the Senate exercises self-love in its activities. Some of the areas he pointed out include the recall on Dino Melaye which the Senate wishes to scrutinize any recall process, the refusal to approve the Acting Chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu as the Chairman.
Establishing the possibility of the Executive to approve Magu as EFCC as Chairman, the Law Professor said:
“The Senate is the only bad party in Nigeria. The Executive can approve the appointment of Magu as the chairman of EFCC without the approval of the Senate, as rightly as said by the Acting President Yemi Osinbajo”.
Sagay urged the Senate to perform its responsibilities instead of causing disputes and interfering in unnecessary cases.
