Truck Drivers Protest in Ondo, Block Highway

Protesting Truck drivers have reportedly blocked the ever busy Ikare-Owo highway, Nigerian Cable news online has gathered.

The drivers, it was gathered blocked the highway after a Police officer shot at the tyre of one of the long trucks plying the road at Oba Akoko part of the highway.

A resident, Mr Aliu Tella who confirmed the development said the road has been blocked in the last Two hours.

“DPO and Area commander are already here, they are discussing how to pay them for the tyre but the people said they need the tyre and not the money,” he said.

The drivers are demanding a new tyre put at a cost of N260,000 from the police.
