JUST IN: Ondo Police Arrest Driver For Raping And Robbing OAU Student

Detectives in the Ondo state police command have arrested a 35 year old driver, Yusuf Waheed, for raping and robbing a female student of the Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU Ile Ife.

Yusuf was alleged to have transported the student from Agbogbo axis of Akure to Ife where he drove her into the bush after dropping other passengers and raped her after threatening her with a knife.

He was also alleged to have dispossessed the female student of her valuables like Infinix handset, Huwawei IPad, and four thousand naira.

His victim, sensing he could kill her if she not cooperate, played along and later reported the incident to the police who began to track him.

The Ondo state police command spokesman, Femi Joseph, told Orange FM that detectives on receiving the information, swung into action and tracked the suspect to Ogun state where the victim’s phone was recovered from him before he was arrested.

“A search warrant was executed in the house of the suspect and one flash drive with the iPad cover belonging to the victim was recovered from suspect.

He has confessed to the crime upon investigation and blamed the devil. We will soon charge him to court” Joseph said.
