Agboola Vs Akeredolu: Ondo Assembly Suspends only ZLP lawmaker, Akinribido

The Ondo state House of Assembly, on Tuesday, suspended the only Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) lawmaker, Honourable Tomide Akinribido.

Nigerian Cable news online gathered that the lawmaker was suspended over a WhatsApp message to the House Speaker, David Oleyelogun, requesting to know reasons behind the unlawful suspension of three lawmakers who refused to sign in favour of the impeachment of Ondo state Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi.

Akinribido, lawmaker representing Ondo West Constituency I and Deputy Minority leader of the House, is the fourth lawmaker to be suspended in the impeachment saga of the deputy governor that has since met legal brick wall.

It was also gathered that the suspension is not unconnected with Governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s desperate move to stop Ajayi from contesting the 2020 governorship election on the platform of the ZLP.
