JUST IN: Ilaje Leaders Gather In Sapele, Role Out New Agenda
Leaders of the Ilaje nation, a community of people resident in the oil producing area of Ondo state on Saturday gathered in Sapele, a metropolitan city of delta state under the auspices of Ilaje Development Council.

The leaders, after electing new executives for the body issued a communique signed by Prince Godday Erewa, the National President and Engr. Kunle Karaki, the General Secretary.
According to the communique made available to Nigerian Cable News by the Public Relations officer, Hon. Banji Okunomo. The news body is non-partisan, development driven, and open to persons of good character and proven integrity.

COMMUNIQUÉ ISSUED AT THE END OF INAUGURAL MEETING OF ILAJE DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL
Preamble
The Ilaje Development Council is a world-wide indigenous association composed mainly of accomplished persons of Ilaje in Ondo State. The Council at its inaugural meeting held at the Alarcarte Residence and Resort Inn, Sapele, Delta on Saturday 17th March 2018. Several papers were presented at the meeting to broaden knowledge of members and prepare them for their new assignment. The main papers were;
Road map for Ilaje development – challenges and strategies
Value Re-orientation
Multi-dimensional approach towards
addressing the challenges of Ilaje land
During deliberation, some observations were made by the Council concerning the state of Ilaje land, which are issues of importance including but not limited to; Infrastructure Development, Value Reorientation, Insecurity, Poor quality of education, unemployment, dichotomy, neglect by successive governments, abandonment and lack of sustainable projects by intervention agencies, environmental degradation.
And resolved as follows;
that the Executive of the Council be constituted to pilot the affairs of the Council with immediate effect
that the membership of the Council shall be open to persons of good character and proven integrity
that the Council shall be non-partisan but a development-driven Association of Ilaje nation
that the Council unanimously agreed to come up with a developmental master-plan for Ilaje nation
that the Council shall embark on value re-orientation of the teaming Ilaje Youths through various programmes
that the Council shall embark on the tour of Ilaje land to assess the extent of decay
that the Council shall replicate successful development model of similar terrains of developed countries of the world
that the Council shall collaborate with all security agencies in order to tackle insecurity in the area and to facilitate rapid development of Ilaje nation
that the Council shall collaborate with government to exploit tourism potentials in Ilaje land
that the Council shall work in cooperation with all traditional institutions in order to tackle dichotomy headlong
that the Council shall explore the media to bring to fore the lack of infrastructure in Ilaje land and seek practical solutions
that the Council shall carefully select persons of impeccable character and reputation to serve as Trustees
