JUST IN: Buhari Doesn’t Need To Attend Debate – Presidency

The Presidency has spoken on the absence of President Muhammadu Buhari at the 2019 presidential debate.

Bashir Ahmad, a media aide to Buhari stressed that the president and the All Progressive’s Congress presidential flagbearer doesn’t need to attend because his past achievements will harp for him.

On his Twitter handle, he referred Nigerians to the track records of the curenrt administration in about four years. 

“For President Muhammadu Buhari, he doesn’t have to debate, his achievements for 3.5 years will do the talk for him. In SW; Lag-Ibadan Rail, Lag-Abeokuta road, in SS & SE; Maritime University and 2nd Niger Bridge, in NE; Security, in NW; ABJ-KD-KN expressways, in NC; Baro Port and many more”, Ahmad mentioned.

On the other hand, PDP’s Atiku Abubakar claimed his reason for not assuming podium for the debate, despite getting to the venue was because his major contender, Buhari was absent.
