The minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige has announced that there will be dialogue with the residents doctors who are on indefinite strike, tomorrow.
While convening the meeting the leadership of the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD), the minister said that Federal Government would hold meeting on Wednesday by 12 noon instead of the November 2 as earlier planned.
Nigige explained in a statement on Monday that the doctors
had reached an agreement with the Federal Ministry of Health
on their six-point demand with timelines duly signed.
He, however, expressed disappointment and shock at what he described as the “sudden U-turn” by the leadership of the
association and asked them to go back to work.
Earlier, the Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole directed that the government hospitals should make use of youth corps in place of striking doctors while the FG holds talk with them.
