JUST IN: Adebayo Faleti Dies At 86

The Yoruba actor , Adebayo Faleti , has just been confirmed  dead.

As announced by his son, Adeniyi, the 86-year-old man died today, July 23, in his house while he (Adeniyi) was helping him with his bath.

His son , Adeniyi , told our correspondent that he
was helping his father with his bath when he died.

According to him, the deceased had already given a sign of his demise while observing morning devotion this morning as he was quoted praying God to send someone else to continue missions on earth from where he stopped.

Here is Adeniyi’s narration:

After the morning devotion , I helped him to the bathroom as I normally do . He said he wanted God to send someone else to come and complete his work because he had done all he could do. He also said that he wanted to go
home. Suddenly, I noticed that he was not breathing again.

“We took him to the University College
Hospital , Ibadan where he was confirmed dead”, Adeniyi noted.

Faleti was a Yoruba translator, TV exponent and a pioneer staff of the first television station in Africa, Western
Nigeria Television (WNTV). He published a dictionary containing the formal or
official use of Yoruba names.

He was also responsible for translating Nigeria’s National Anthem from English to Yoruba.
