IPOB Ban: I’m Not Sure Buhari Approved it – Femi Adesina

The Special Adviser to President Buhari on media, Femi Adesina has expressed uncertainty about the said approval of his boss on the ban of Indigenous People of Biafra.

On Monday, the Senate President described the declaration of IPOB as a terrorist organization by the military and their proscription by the south east governors, as unconstitutional and defiled due process.

Subsequently, the report from ThisDay revealed a source in the attorney-general’s office confirmed that the President had already signed the ban on Sunday before heading for the ongoing United Nations General Assembly holding in New York.

Speaking from New York, Adesina also established that he doesn’t know whether the approval is true or not.

“I read the report also online today, but it is not something I have discussed with him.

“So, I can’t confirm or deny whether that actually came up before he left the country”, Adesina expressed.

This however breeds uncertainty over the report of the newspaper as the only statement coming from the Presidency is yet to confirm whether the President actually approved the ban of IPOB or not.
