I’m Not Promoting Tobacco To Get People Killed – Olamide Replies FG

The Nigerian rapper and singer, Olamide Adedeji popularly known as Olamide Baddo says he is not promoting tobacco in his song, “Wo” to kill people.

The Federal Ministry of Health on Sunday, reacted to the video content of Olamide’s latest song as containing tobacco and violating the Tobacco Contrl Act of 2015.

The tweets read:

“The public is informed of the dangerous public health content & violation of Tobacco Control Act 2015 in ‘Wo’ by @olamide_YBNL #ClearTheAir.”

“The content & video contains scenes that violate the ban on Tobacco Advertising, Promotion & Sponsorship provision of the act #ClearTheAir.”

Afterwards, the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) banned Olamide’s Wo, Wavy Level and other recent hit songs from Davido and 9ice.

Olamide has now responded to the allegation of the health ministry.

He maintains that he loves Nigeria and has no intention of promoting tobacco to kill his fans.

On his Twitter on August 22, Olamide wrote:

“No intentions of promoting tobacco to get people killed, I love my people, I love my country, one love, one Nigeria #ClearTheAir Oya Wo!”.

    Nijja is sick with the so called health sector….. Is “wo”….our economy…. Nijja govt goten so much on tobacco tariff…. God punish u all.
