Ilaje Born Fisherman Emerges MD/CEO of Southwest Nigeria’s Biggest Retail Store

Mr. Gbayisemore Orioye Benedict, a fisherman from Ilaje local government of Ondo state has emerged as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Ojaja More, the newest and biggest retail store in the southwest region of Nigeria.

Orioye, a quintessential young entrepreneur, whose feats are legendary and unprecedented, is a graduate of physics from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife.

He has over twelve years cognate experience as a business magnate and a business development expert.

He is a business consultant, whose penchant for developing micro medium business enterprises into multinational businesses is enviable. At the peak of his career attainment is the national award to his credit as the Male Most Outstanding Participant at the Micro Small Medium Enterprises MSME Clinic for the year 2020.

Orioye was also inaugurated as the coordinator of the South-West MSME Trust Fund by His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi (Ojaja II), the Ooni of Ife, a position that has afforded him a veritable opportunity to significantly impact the micro small and medium business world. Speaking during the inauguration of the Ojaja More shopping mall in Ile-Ife, The Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Ogunwusi said the growing unemployment among youths calls for concern, urging various stakeholders to intervene with a view to reducing the scourge.

“We have started from Ile-Ife because charity begins at home, from here we will cover the entire South West and Nigeria with a chain of over 100 stalls within the next 24 months. It will be the first of its kind in Nigeria and the continent of Africa.

“Beyond grooming young minds and serious-minded youths in a retail business, this initiative will offer over 100,000 direct and indirect employment to our youths across the country, thereby contributing in no small means to human development and capacity building. That’s my target.” He added.
