Ikubese’s Sckye bags Private Hospital of the Year Award

Dr. Thomas-Wilson Ikubese’s Sckye Hospital in Akure has been awarded as the sunshine outstanding private hospital of the year during the Sunshine Integrity Award(SIA) held in the Ondo State capital.

The award ceremony which was organized by Sunshine Integrity Award, an initiative of Samleymih event and entertainment concepts was held at the OSPDC event center, Ijapo in Akure on Sunday.

According to the Managing Director of Samleymih Concepts, Olaleye Oluwafemi, the Award was presented in recognition of the commitment of the Hospital management to selfless services, particularly in the area of child delivery at little or no cost, in comparison with the costs in other hospital in Ondo State.

The hospital which started in a modest three bedroom apartment has grown over time into a top notch medical complex, to become one of the best hospitals in Akure and in deed Ondo State, with a client base of well over 25,000 patients as at mid-2021

Since 2004, the hospital has been rendering FREE antenatal services to pregnant women who come from far and wide.

This includes FREE registration/cards, FREE consultations, FREE ultrasound scanning on every Antenatal clinic days (Wednesdays and Fridays), FREE blood tests which include PCV, blood group, HIV, Genotype, HepB, FREE urinalysis test, FREE vaginal delivery and FREE ceaserean sections for higher order multiple gestations.

The hospital writes off bills for indigent patients and also helps in raising funds for them, from time to time.

In June 2021 for instance, a baby was born by a prison inmate in Akure Ondo State. The hospital took it up to offer FREE medicare for the baby, up to adulthood and also offered to sponsor the education of the baby up to the University level.

These uncommon gestures have won the hospital several humanitarian awards over the years, for which he’s again being honoured now.

Receiving the award, the Cheif Executive Officer(CEO) of sckye hospital, Dr. Thomas-Wilson Ikubese said the management and staff of the hospital are humbled to be decorated with the Award.

He gave all glory to God for the privilege to contribute to humanity, while dedicating the award to their patients for whose health they have dedicated the rest of our lives.

Sunshine Integrity Award is an initiative of Samleymih event and Entertainment Concepts, whose responsibility is to brands and individuals, who have contributed positively in their area of specialization to the society.
