Herdsmen Fit Better Into The Meaning Of Terrorism Than IPOB – Reno Omokri

The media aide to Former President Jonathan Goodluck, Reno Omokri has questioned the tagging of Indigenous People of Biafra as a terrorist organization by the Federal Government.

He faulted the proscription ban of IPOB on the ground of comparism with the deadly Fulani herdsman in the North that were saved from such label.

In his Facebook video uploaded on Sunday, Reno Omokri noted that the United Nations, European Union and other renowned international bodies named Fulani herdsmen as the fourth deadly terrorist sect while the Nigerian Government shunned this reality blaring at her.

He added that IPOB’s activities have not be globally recognised as been in similitude to that of terrorist whereas the Federal Government sees it otherwise.

“The herdsmen who are considered terrorists by the US, the UK, the European Union and even the World Economic Forum are not considered terrorists by the Nigerian government. But the people who are not considered terrorists by these countries and groups are the ones the Nigerian government is considering as terrorists,” Omokri said.

“The dictionary defines a terrorist as someone who unlawfully uses violence to achieve political aims. And by the dictionary definition, you can see that herdsmen actually fits into the category of a terrorist more than IPOB.

“How many people have IPOB members killed? Have they gone and killed people in northern Nigeria, or in south-western Nigeria or in the south-south? No.

“The herdsmen are currently the fourth deadliest terrorist group in the whole world yet our government says these herdsmen are not terrorists”, he mentioned.

Similarly, the media aide to President Buhari, Garba Shehu stated in a national television that pro-Biafra group is a terrorist group in all indications of their past deeds while the Fulani herdsmen are criminal gang whom are being dealt with appropriately.
